The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has recommended the filing of charges against Board of Nursing (BoN) examiners Anesia Dionisio and Virginia Madeja for the June 2006 Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE) leakage.

Charged before the Ombudsman for violating Republic Act 8981 (Professional Regulation Commission Modernization Act) and Republic Act 3019 (Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act), both Dionisio and Madeja face possible jail terms of six to twelve years should the court rule against their favor.

The Office of the Ombudsman has created of a special panel composed of five members to determine the need for another fact-finding investigation or to proceed with preliminary hearings. Overall Deputy Ombudsman Orlando Casimiro was designated as chairman of the panel, while agency director Susan Guillermo, was named vice chair. Other panel members are director Eulogio Cecilio and Lawyers Silverio Manuel Jr and Mary Antonette Yalao.

Meanwhile, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has ordered that all six BoN examiners be replaced because of the cheating controversy that has tainted the conduct of exams by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
