MANILA, Philippines -- The Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) plans to administer the retake of the tainted portions of the June 2006 nursing licensure exams, Labor Secretary Arturo Brion said Tuesday.

Appealing to CGFNS ‘useless,’ says Gordon (Inquirer.Net 02/20/2007)

MANILA, Philippines -- The government's plan to appeal the decision of the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) requiring nurses who passed the June 2006 board examination to retake two leak-tainted tests if they want to acquire US visas is useless, Senator Richard Gordon said Tuesday.

MANILA, Philippines -- While most Filipinos would trust passers of the controversial June 2006 nursing board exam to take care of them in sickness, they also agreed that opportunities for the nurses to work abroad would decrease as an aftermath of the cheating that marred the exams, recent surveys from the Social Weather Stations found.

MANILA, Philippines -- The Philippine government may open informal talks with the United States’ Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) to ask for a "flexible implementation" of its policy requiring nurses who passed the June 2006 board exams to retake disputed portions of the test to be eligible for visas, an official said Monday.

Swallow the bitter pill, exec tells June ‘06 nursing passers (Inquirer.Net)

MANILA, Philippines -- Swallow the bitter pill if your request is rejected.

In case the US Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools would deny the government’s appeal, passers of the tainted June 2006 nursing licensure examination must accept the American organization’s decision not to give them VisaScreen certificates unless they comply with certain requirements, Dante Ang of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas said.

I think it's quite crazy, our government trying to pressure cgfns to turn the table in our direction.

i have students (and friends) who took the June 2006 board. I sympathize in their struggles, but the truth is they all have the wrong conception of whose fault is it.

The PRC is the sole culprit to blame for all these troubles. if Rosero did not released the results in the first place (while there was an ongoing investigation for the leakage) non of this would happen.

CGFNS is for verification of credentials and they are skeptic about the result of the exam because of the magic formula that rosero concocted.

I loathe that b**** (sorry for the term) so much that i want to wring her neck in payment for all the troubles she caused on the lives of these poor 2006 nurses.

I have been telling my students for the Nth time that Mr. Ang, Belarmino, UST Protesters and the rest whoare suggesting for the retake is the most logical and damage controlling solution for this outrage.

Pero anong ginawa? wala pa rin. may magic formula pa rin... kaya hayan ang siste. Rosero should resign!

TELL DANTE ANG, BRION , AND THE REST OF THE UST WHO ARE PRETENDING TO BE WITHOUT SIN TO GO AHEAD AND TAKE THE EXAMS THEMSELVES. LET THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SINNED CAST THE FIRST STONE. MAY THEIR SOULS REST IN PEACE FOR ONE OF THESE DAYS THEY WILL HAVE THEIR NAMES IN THE OBITUARIES.X

I am a UST Nursing Graduate of 2006 and I think that what we fight for is just right, and that is to preserve the integrity of the Nursing profession. But no one or should i say, only a few believed in us. So what now? the CGFNS does not want to offer June 2006 passers visascreen. What we should do is to really have to retake the tests 3 and 5 of the NLE. To those people who believe that UST is the one to blame, well, think again! If you are really a competent nurse, you should be confident enough to retake the exam.

With due respect to June 2006 passers, I think UST and everyone else whose stand from the very beginning is pro-retake are the ones who are right. Sorry.. but can't you see what Rosero is doing to your batch?
