The Counties Manukau District Health Board (CMDHB), a government health board in New Zealand, plans to hire filipino nurses for Auckland according to a report by GMANews.TV

CMDHB is one of the largest providers and funder of primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare in Australasia, serving the people of South and East Auckland in an area that stretches from Otahuhu to Port Waikato.

Representatives of CMDHB will be coming to the Philippines on the third (3rd) week of September to interview applicants and may deploy qualified applicants to New Zealand as early as October.

Qualified candidates will initially be issued visitor visas to do a competency course for eight weeks before they can take exams and eventually register as a nurse in New Zealand, according to Japhet Vailoces, a Filipino clinical nurse educator at the CMDHB’s cardiology and neurology department interviewed by GMANews.TV
...
CMDHB representatives are reportedly working out a direct-hiring scheme with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) to eliminate possible abuse and exploitation by private recruitment agencies. They are also seeking an exemption from paying the US$450 recruitment fee prescribed under the standard recruitment agreement of the POEA.

dear fellow Filipinos who are interested to apply here in NZ. It's a great oppurtunity for you guys to grab the offer of the Manukau Counties District Health Board. They will come to the Philippines to recruit in September, Im not sure for the specific venue but I'll try my best to find out and inform you..First thing that you should do is prepare your IELTS results, it should be a score of 7 in all category. Then your CV's, passport, TOR, NBI, Police Clearance, Birth Cert, certificate of employment...
Then download the registration form from www.nursingcouncil.org.nz
Try to browse and read for other requirements, all the steps are written there..
Take note, it does't matter if you worked in a secondary hospital as long as you have atleast 1 year experience so that when you get here, you be RN-2 nurse..
Regarding for the competency program, you will undergo an eight weeks schooling inorder to get your license here and don't worry because there is no examination, you will automatically get a license as soon as you finish the course...
Good thing if you come here through Manukau Counties District Health Boards because they will pay your tuition fee which is 130-155 thousand pesos and your registration fee which is $450...Sounds good right...how I wished this was offered to me before I came....hehehe
anyway, if you pass all their reqiurements in september, all you have to do is prepare for your pocket money, it's a bit expensive but it's worth it if you have a job...trust me....
