California Board of Registered Nursing Now Requires Disclosure of Convictions as Part of RN License Renewal Requirements

In an announcement posted on its website, the California Board of Registered Nursing said it will be requiring all nurse licensees to declare if they have been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony during the last renewal period.

The move came after the LA Times and Propublica reported that the California Board of Registered Nursing allowed allowed sex offenders, drug users and convicts to retain and renew their nursing licenses.

All previous convictions must be disclosed even if they have been dismissed, reduced, or expunged.

Filipino registered nurses working in the State of California are also subject to the new renewal requirements which took effect last October 23, 2008.

Dear Editor, i need your help on how to ask for an extenssion regarding my CA notification for NCLEX this coming November.I did wrote for an extenssion last Feb but Mrs.Chan said that it is still eraly for me to ask for an extenssion and ahe adviced me to write to them 3 months prior to the expiration of my Notification and just last July she told me that CA cannot extend my Noticfication. Do i have to retake the NCLEX if until Nov.i still can't find a sponsor?
Please i really need you help.I have applied for AR endorsement but i don't know if i can get my License before the expiry date.
