VisaScreen® Certificate Renewal

29May2011

The VisaScreen® Certificate is a document issued by CGFNS International certifying that a health care professional has successfully completed Federal screening requirements prior to the issuance of a temporary or permanent occupational visa.

VisaScreen® Certificates are valid five years from the date of issue. Nurses who are VisaScreen® Certificate holders are advised that they MUST reapply for a certificate renewal six months before expiration of their current certificate unless they have obtained a permanent visa or has become a U.S. citizen.

VisaScreen® Certificate renewal requires that a nurse takes an approved English proficiency exam unless he or she can demonstrate at least 27-36 months of legal employment as a nurse in the United States. The applicant's employer needs to submit a signed employment summary on corporate letterhead in order for the English exam requirement to be waived.

VisaScreen® Certificate renewals can be accomplished online or by mail. To download the renewal application form and read more about VisaScreen® Certificate renewal cost and application requirements, log on to CGFNS.org

my VSC will expire on March 2012.since i have to take the English exam again, what hassle will it make when i renew it after it expired?
well you have to go to PRC your school of nursing and ask them to do some paper works again. Its so difficult when you are still on the waiting list(priority dates) after how many years has passed. Entering legally into the USA legally by taking those requried exams and everything is just disappointing to some, but for me i see it as a challenge.you can fill in your renewal application online and make sure you have an existing account at CGFNS.Goodluck
I would like to thank you for the efforts you've made in writing this posting. I'm hoping the same very best function from you inside future too.
hi. My visascreen has expired more than 6 months ago. My PD is Jan 06. My friend said that I need to reapply for visascreen which is what I'm doing right now. However I'm wondering how long will it take for the CGFNS to issue my certificate once I'm done with all the reapplication process. I'm starting to worry that when my interview date will come, I haven't received my certificate yet. Thank you.

Hi! Thanks for sharing. I was just wondering if IELTS is required for this kind of visa? I read somewhere that one needs to pass the IELTS exam to get a visa http://www.reallygoodarticles.com/articles/16084/.... I hope you could help me on this. Thanks
