Ms. Barbara Zittel, RN, Ph.D., executive secretary of the New York State Boards for Nursing and Respiratory Therapy told Pinoy R.N. that they are carefully examining licensure (NCLEX) applications from Philippine Nurses involved in the compromised June 2006 Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination.

The statement was in response to a query by Pinoy R.N. on the status of licensure applications filed by June 2006 nurses who are still awaiting approval to sit for the NCLEX exam as there were speculations that applications of June 2006 nurses were indefinitely put on hold.

"This review is extremely time-consuming and therefore it may appear as though there is a 'freeze' in our review process," added Zittel.

I want to say that my application was put on hold too and i was told everytime im calling NYSED ext 300 Comparative Education department that they have not made any decision yet and dont know when the decision will be made which is very much unfair on my part coz I took and passed the board exam December 2006. Ive been waiting for 1 yr already and have been done with all the requirements like cvs, 2 mandatory courses just to find out my application was on hold after waiting for a yr. so i guess its not fair at all. all my efforts, time and money were wasted. i started my cvs last aug 2006 and after 8 months of waiting the report was issued to NYSED MArch 2007. then i was never been informed my application was on hold. i only found out about it when i called them following up my application so its so so frustrating. i dont know how long do i have to wait for this. i applied in other state already but i want to practice in NY. I was told that i could apply in other state if i want to but i have no assurance i can get endorsed in NY until they havent made any decision yet. I guess they are just basing it on the year graduated. They were generalizing that 2006 graduates have no good moral character. Pls help me guys. what do i need to do?
